Special lecture for risk management (Indonesia) / MSIG Indonesia

Since 2007, as part of CSR Activity, MSIG Indonesia as overseas subsidiary of our company has been continuously conducting a Risk Management (“RM”) Seminar to university student in Indonesia to deepen their knowledge and interest for RM and General Insurance. This activity has been supported by InterRisk (Asia), one of our affiliate companies in Singapore. At this time, the seminar was held in Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) attended by approximately 120 students. ITB is a famous university in Indonesia from which the first President Soekarno was graduated. Additionally, the company has conducted this seminar for other universities, such as University of Indonesia, Bogor Agricultural University etc. The students of ITB ardently listened to the seminar and actively raised up questions one after another even if extended hour was needed. The company is planning to conduct the seminar continuously in future.

Insurance Training Program for 3 ASEAN Countries held on March 2, 2009

A non-life insurance training program was held again this year for the last time, between March 2 and 11, targeting at parties concerned with insurance in the three countries, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
Our company, appointed as a program-organizing body by Japan International Cooperation Agency, or JICA, has been hosting this seminar for 3 years since 2006.
This year, being the final year of the training program, 5 participants from 3 countries attended the program to learn know-how to enhance insurance market, with focus on topics such as Compulsory Automobile Liability Insurance, automobile insurance product coverage, claims administration, sales system and risk management structure of Japan.
In addition to presentations given by MSIG employees from relevant departments, there were guest lectures provided by members of such as Non-Life Insurance Rating Organization of Japan, the Jiken Center Co., Ltd., and Japanese FSA. Through this seminar, we will aim to transfer insurance technical know-how to Asia and thereby will further grow insurance market of each country as well as our Asian business.

Technical Support to the Thai Insurance Premium Rating Bureau

As part of a project to transfer technical skills in Asia, we directly support the establishment and running of The Insurance Premium Rating Bureau in Thailand, dispatching our employees as advisors since it began its operations in April 2005. Activities include maintaining organization and operation structure, providing information on markets in Japan, Asian countries, Europe and Americas, holding training sessions in Japan and data constructing for premium rating calculation.

In May 2007, for the fourth time in a row, we were awarded with “Excellent Insurance Company Award” from the Insurance Department in Thailand in recognition of these activities and our company's excellent performance.

We launched training sessions toward three ASEAN countries regarding Domestic Non-life Insurance skills.

In order to encourage sustainable and healthy development of insurance markets in Asia, we have been committed to supporting insurance skills of insurance directors and insurance company employees in each Asian country. In March 2007, we cooperated with JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) to launch a 2-week training session on maintenance of Domestic Non-life Insurance system with 10 insurance directors from 3 ASEAN countries.
