In view of the importance of the protection of personal information, and in order to improve the society's confidence in our business, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group (hereon referred to as “MSIG”) will strictly adhere to laws regarding protection of personal information (Private Information Protection Law), as well as other laws and guidelines to properly handle personal information, and take adequate measures for safety management.
- 1.MSIG will attain personal information within the boundaries of business necessity in a legitimate and fair manner. Also, we will report or publicize our purpose for using the personal information, and use it within the confines of the stated purpose.
- 2.MSIG will not offer personal data to third persons without getting prior permission, unless stipulated by law.
- 3.MSIG companies may share personal data in order to introduce the best products and services to customers, and to manage the businesses of the MSIG companies.
Policies of Shared Use- 4.MSIG will make efforts to prevent leakage, damage, or defamation of personal data. It will also ensure adequate security measures such as maintenance of policies regarding usage, as well as implementation systems for the maintenance of policies regarding use of data and safety management. We will also offer necessary and relevant supervision when handling of personal data is trusted to external parties.
- 5.MSIG will make sure that personal information is not mishandled, and properly educate and supervise employees regarding adequate handling of personal information. We will also continue to review and improve our handling of personal information and our methods for safety management.
- 6.MSIG will respond to complaints and consultations regarding our handling of personal information adequately and rapidly. Also, if customers request disclosure or correction of their own personal information held by MSIG, we will promptly respond according to the law.
